Cabot Citrus Farms

Cabot’s first U.S. destination, Cabot Citrus Farms, is on 1,200 acres of rolling land and will include Cabot’s signature combination of world-class golf, luxury accommodations, and real estate opportunities. Opening in 2023, Cabot Citrus Farms will feature two revitalized 18-hole courses, a par-3 course, a new clubhouse, and extensive practice facilities. The property is a 50-minute drive from Tampa and an 80-minute drive from Orlando. While close to urban amenities, the property sits in the central-west region of Florida aptly known as the Nature Coast. Visitors will delight in one-of-a-kind experiences including exceptional hiking, biking, and nature trails at neighboring Withlacoochee State Forest, spring-fed rivers and bountiful lakes at Crystal River, and world-class fishing in the Gulf of Mexico.

Position Overview:

As the Assistant Superintendent at Cabot Citrus Farms, you will be accountable for the training, coaching supervision, and quality control of the Turf Care Team. You will be responsible for overseeing all agronomic programs associated with our Audubon initiatives and in compliance with our Environmental Protection and Health and Safety Policy while leading and supervising project crews tasked with various golf course and resort enhancement projects.

Key Responsibilities

· Report daily to the Golf Course Superintendent on course activities and assignment completion

· Allocate resources and equipment for crews to ensure that all tasks are completed promptly.

· Maintain accurate records for all nutrient management, IPM, irrigation, and environmental programs.

· Implement accurate inventory management tracking concerning department resources and assets.

· Exercise best maintenance practices and is client service-focused.

· Participate in the company’s Occupational Health and Safety committee.

· Assist and communicate with all other golf and resort operational departments.

· Supervise, lead, and inspire teams to ensure all assignments are completed safely, efficiently, and to the company’s standards as they relate to all resort activities.

· Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications

· Experience in Golf Course / Turfgrass Management

· A diploma or degree in Turfgrass/ Golf Course Management or a related field

· The ability to mentor, teach, coach, and motivate a team of 25 individuals.

· The passion and ability to coordinate the day-to-day operations of a Golf Course Turf Care Department

· A strong understanding of agronomic practices and how they relate to the game of golf.

· The willingness to adapt to new methods and standards.

· The ability to obtain a Florida pesticide applicator license within 90 days of employment.

· The ability to analyze and solve problems; efficiently handle multiple duties under pressure with minimal supervision.

· The ability to collect and analyze data and input into a report.

Physical Demands

· Ability to spend long hours moving around, walking, sitting, standing, kneeling, reaching.

· Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 25 pounds of force frequently or constantly lift, carry, push, or otherwise move objects.

· Ability to work outdoors in varying environmental conditions such as heat, cold and rain.

· Ability to work with and around pesticides, fertilizers, equipment movement hazards, and misdirected golf balls.
